This aftermarket pair follows that same angled profile, matching the prescription front rather than the smoother curve found on Ray-Ban's round or oval eyeglass lines. The sunglasses-only RB1972 shares this exact shape, so the RX prefix on the code is what confirms the prescription version specifically.

An octagonal front changes the angle at which the arm meets the hinge compared with a round or square frame, so the screw takes load from a sharper direction.
